In 2014 we embarked on two projects underway to upgrade busy intersections on Ennis Avenue in Cooloongup and Waikiki.
Works at this intersection, including construction of a second left-turn lane from Grange Drive into Ennis Avenue, were completed in early December 2014.
About $3 million of State Government Black Spot funding was made available to upgrade the intersection of Ennis Avenue with Willmott Drive. This work including a new acceleration lane for traffic turning right out of Willmott Drive onto Ennis Avenue and traffic signals to control:
These works were completed on 1 February 2015.
Existing intersection turn pockets and median islands have been upgraded to Australian standards and the left-turn pocket on Willmott Drive has been extended. Pedestrian crossing facilities on Willmott Drive have been upgraded to meet current access and mobility standards with drainage and street lighting have been improved.
