We are responsible for providing a safe and efficient road network as part of an integrated Western Australian transport system. To assist in the efficient and effective delivery of its infrastructure construction program, Main Roads maintains a Contractor Prequalification System to enable it to make the best use of the resources of the civil engineering contracting industry.

National Prequalification System for Civil (Road and Bridge) Construction Contracts

Prequalification will be in accordance with the Austroads Prequalification Guidelines (refer to the report entitled 'National Prequalification System for Civil (Road and Bridge) Construction Contracts' on the Austroads website), which are subject to final endorsement by the Austroads Board. Austroads reserves the right to amend the guidelines as required.

To the extent permitted by law, the Commissioner of Main Roads, his officers, employees and agents are not liable for any costs, loss, damage or injury (howsoever caused) incurred by any person as a result of the exercise of the discretion to grant, reduce, suspend or cancel a Contractor's prequalification status.

Further, the Commissioner and his officers, employees and agents do not represent that any prequalified Contractor is technically, financially or otherwise sound. Any person seeking to deal with a Contractor who is prequalified with the Commissioner must rely on their own independent enquiries and judgement.
