Traffic changes are coming

To allow the Nicholson Road (Bridge) Over Rail project and NorthLink WA to reach major milestones this weekend, motorists will notice a number of road closures in place from Friday night.

Plan ahead to avoid delays and familiarise yourself with the changes coming this weekend.

Nicholson Road (Bridge) Over Rail

8pm Friday 12 January to 5am Monday 15 January

Nicholson Road between Bannister Road and the Yale Road/Garden Street roundabout will be closed as traffic lanes are realigned onto the new bridge. When the road is reopened Monday morning, new temporary lanes will be in place and traffic will be directed over the new bridge.

Traffic management will remain in place with a reduced speed limit while construction continues.

The shared path along this section will also be closed until the end of April to allow the final portion of the ramps and underpass to be safely constructed. The path will be reopened in its new alignment once the project is complete.

Please take care when travelling through the area, allow additional travel time and follow all signage.

NorthLink WA

7pm Friday 12 January to 5am Wednesday 17 January

Collier Road will be closed to progress the next stage of construction. Detours will be in place.

On Saturday morning, traffic on Tonkin Highway will be redirected under the new Collier Road bridge, creating a free-flowing journey from Perth Airport to the Reid Highway/Tonkin Highway intersection.

Collier Road between Wright Street and Grey/Jackson streets will remain closed until 5am Wednesday 17 January to allow construction of two temporary roundabouts with one lane of traffic in each direction.
