Kids' Bridge to connect Children's Hospital with nature

An iconic new structure will be taking shape over Winthrop Avenue over the next 18 months.

‘The Kids' Bridge' will be a three-metre wide, 225-metre long walkway connecting families and children using facilities on the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre campus with our iconic Kings Park.

Following an official announcement by the Minister for Health Roger Cook and Minister for Transport Rita Saffioti on 16 February, Design Engineers AECOM will now commence detailed design work for the pedestrian bridge, which will include a review of the previous design concepts.

This will be followed by a construction tender, with the successful builder expected to commence works late this year.

The Kids' Bridge Project involves stakeholders from Perth Children’s Hospital , the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation , QEIIMC Trust , Main Roads, Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority , Department of Health , Child and Adolescent Health Service and City of Perth .
