Finalist in Urban Design Awards

Together with the City of Perth, we were recently named as finalists in the 2019 Australian Urban Design Awards. Our nomination in 'Leadership, advocacy and research – city and regional scale' recognises our work on the City's Hay Street Pedestrian Priority Zone (PPZ), part of the City's East End Revitalisation Program.

The East End Revitalisation Program aims to improve the environment, character and quality through revitalisation of the streetscape.

Located just in front of the District Court, the Hay Street PPZ design will allow for the continued use of the street for all pedestrians, regardless of ability. Key features include reduced speed zones, wider footpaths and designated crossings for the visually impaired – all without compromising the functionality of the street.

The first stage of works on Hay Street is expected to start next year.
