Vacation Work at Main Roads

Subject to organisational requirements, resources may become available within Main Roads to accommodate paid vacation work.

Vacation work occurs between academic years during the summer vacation period, and is only available for University and TAFE students in relevant disciplines.

If you would like to register your interest in completing vacation work with us, please email vacationwork@mainroads.wa.gov.au with the following information by 31st October each year:

  • Course and year of study;
  • Brief outline of what benefit you would gain out of vacation work; and 
  • Availability.

 Please note that any emails received after the 31st October will be considered in the following year.

Engineering Associate Program:

  • Traffic/Network Management,
  • Asset Management, or
  • Design/Civil

We would like to attract applicants with positive and proactive qualities. Candidates will be aligned with a mentor to assist with career development, rotation selections and knowledge sharing.  Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work within a highly innovative environment.  Conscientious and enthusiastic people who enjoy working in a team environment and possess strong organisation and prioritisation skills are sought for this role.  We are looking for candidates with good academic results and well developed communication skills are essential.
