Northbridge Tunnel Closure - Eastbound lanes
Friday, 6 November
9.00 pm to 5.00 am

The eastbound lanes of the Northbridge Tunnel from Mitchell Freeway to East Parade will be closed while maintenance work is carried out.

 

Northbridge Festival 2009
Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 November

To facilitate the Northbridge Festival and the Spring Gospel Music & Arts Festival 2009, the City of Perth will be closing James Street and Lake Street from 1.00 pm Saturday to Sunday night.

John Hughes Big Walk 
Sunday, 8 November

Traffic delays may be experienced around the Great Eastern Highway in Burswood prior to the staggered start times of 8.00 am to 9.00 am. The walk is on the Principal Shared Path (PSP) and participants are urges to plan ahead if travelling to the start area.

 

Tour de Perth
13 to 15 November

WA's premier road cycling event, the Tour de Perth will have a new beginning in 2009 with the Tour's first four stages taking in high profile central city locations, ideal for spectators and media coverate, including cover on SBS.

To accommodate the Tour, the following road closures will be in place:

Friday, 13 November
6.30 pm to 9.00 pm:
  • William Street - Aberdeen Street to Roe Street
  • Francis Street - Parker Street to William Street
  • Parker Street - Francis Street to James Street
  • James Street - Parker Street to William Street
Saturday, 14 November
8.00 am to 1.00 pm
  • Kings Park Road westbound - Malcolm Street to Thomas Street
  • St Georges Terrace westbound - Milligan Street to Malcolm Street
  • Malcolm Street westbound 
  • Thomas Street southbound (ONE LANE) - Kings Park Road to Winthrop Avenue
  • Mounts Bay Road Eastbound AND exit northbound off the Kwinana Freeway
  • Spring Street northbound - Mounts Bay Road to Mount Street
  • Mount Street eastbound - St Georges Terrace to Freeway
Sunday, 15 November
8.00 am to 1.00 pm
Partial closure

For the duration of the course, traffic controllers will be present on West Coast Highway to allow cyclists through between Oceanic Drive and Rochdale Road. Motorists are advised to approach with caution and observe all traffic management in place.

ADVANCED NOTICE
Horseshoe Bridge Closure
December 2009 to April 2010

The bridge will be closed to all traffic, except Transperth buses, to enable a major upgrade involving reconstruction of the concrete deck of the bridge and improvements to the road surface.

Motorists need to plan ahead and seek alternative routes during this time. For further information including a map and details for alternative routes please visit our Horseshoe Bridge Upgrade page.

 

Armadale Road
Tapper Road (Atwell) to Forrest Road (Forrestdale)
Ongoing from 24 October for 2 week period
7.00 am to 5.00 pm

Shoulder grading works will be carried out. Lane closures will be in place and delays can be expected during this time.

 

Cockburn Road
Emplacement Crescent (North Coogee) to Anderson Road (Henderson)
Ongoing from 26 October for 2 week period
7.00 am to 5.00 pm

Shoulder grading works will be carried out. Lane closures will be in place and delays can be expected during this time.

 

Ennis Avenue off ramp to Safety Bay Road
9 to 27 November

Guard rail removal and replacement works will be carried out. Partial closure of the off-ramp will be in place with speed restrictions of 40 km/h. Delays may be experienced.

 

Mounts Bay Road / Old Swan Brewery
Ongoing until 31 March 2010
9.00 am to 3.30 pm

Works will be carried out to reconstruct the river wall between the Old Swan Brewery and the car park near Mounts Bay Road. Delays can be expected.

 
Royal Street Bridge
7 September to 30 November

Refurbishment works will be carried on the bridge over the Canning River. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and seek alternative routes during this time.

 

Thomas Road
Rockingham Road (Medina) to Johnson Road (Orelia)
Ongoing from 2 November for 2 week period
7.00 am to 5.00 pm

Shoulder grading works will be carried out in both directions. Lane closures will be in place and delays can be expected during this time.
