Attention all long haul truck drivers

Would you like to have your say about safety in the heavy vehicle industry? Here is your chance!

Curtin University, the University of Sydney and Queensland University of Technology are conducting a study on safety in the heavy vehicle industry. The study will focus on the causes of heavy vehicle crashes; such as fatigue, health, scheduling, shift length and vehicle characteristics.

If you are a long haul heavy vehicle driver from Western Australia, Queensland or New South Wales you may be contacted to participate in the survey either by letter and then telephone, or you may meet some of the researchers at various refuelling stations. If so, please take the time to take part in one of the largest studies about heavy vehicle safety. You will be reimbursed for your time.

The results of this important study will help to guide change in the industry and promote the safety for all drivers who share our roads.

If you would like more information about the study please visit the Heavy Vehicle Study website or contact Lisa Sharwood on (02) 9657 0377 or Jane Elkington on (02) 9657 0314.
