Attention all long haul truck drivers
Would you like to have your say about safety in the heavy vehicle industry? Here is your chance!
A new study conducted by Curtin University, University of Sydney and Queensland University of Technology will be starting later this year looking at safety in the heavy vehicle industry. The study will focus on the causes of heavy vehicle crashes; such as fatigue, health, scheduling, shift length and vehicle characteristics.
If you are a long haul heavy vehicle driver from Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales you may be contacted to participate in the survey either by letter and then telephone, or you may meet some of the researchers at various refuelling stations. If so, please take the time to take part in one of the largest studies about heavy vehicle safety. You will be reimbursed for your time.
The results of this important study will help to guide change in the industry and promote the safety for all drivers who share our roads.
If you would like more information about the study please contact Lynn Meuleners (08) 9266 4636 in WA, or Lisa Sharwood or Jane Elkington (02) 9657 0377 in NSW.
