Application process

HVO Updates 

HVO Updates provide you with important information about temporary or permanent changes to the road network that Main Roads is aware of, such as permit conditions; roadworks; changes in road conditions; and emergency detours.

It is your responsibility to ensure you are aware of any changes to the network via HVO Updates.

Subscriptions 

By subscribing to our website, you will receive e-mail notification of changes or additions.

Subscribe to this free service by using the online registration form.

 

Applications for a permit must be made on a Main Roads' standard application forms.

Applications will be assessed for suitability.

If successful, a fee is charged and the operator issued:

  • Period Permit via mail (some exceptions may apply to operators who already have a particular permit)
  • Single Trip Permit via e-mail or fax
  • in person over the counter (refer HVO Update 12-2007)

If unsuccessful, the operator will be notified.
