CURFEW REMINDER
OVERSIZE RESTRICTED ACCESS VEHICLES (RAVs)
CHRISTMAS / NEW YEAR PERIOD

Main Roads Western Australia reminds transporters of oversize loads that as per the operating conditions of the Class 1 Oversize Period Permit, the following curfews apply over the Christmas and New Year period.

1. VEHICLES AND / OR INDIVISIBLE LOADS EXCEEDING 2.50 m WIDTH

Any vehicle, or vehicle carrying a load, exceeding 2.50 m in width is not permitted on the Perth-Bunbury Highway (Old Coast Road), between the intersection of Pinjarra Road (Mandurah) and Peppermint Grove Road (Shire of Waroona), from sunset on 18 December 2009 until sunrise on 4 January 2010*. 

2. VEHICLES CARRYING INDIVISIBLE LOADS EXCEEDING 4.50 m WIDTH, AND / OR 30.0 m TOTAL LENGTH

In addition to the above, over the periods 24 December to 26 December 2009, 31 December 2009, and 1 January to 3 January 2010 inclusive, any vehicle carrying a load in excess of 4.50 m in width, and / or 30.0 m in total length, is also not permitted on:
Albany Highway (Bedfordale Road Train Assembly Area, to Albany)
Brand Highway
Eyre Highway
Great Eastern Highway
South Western Highway (Armadale to Bunbury)*
Great Northern Highway (Roe Highway to Mount Magnet)

*These restrictions will also affect access to the newly opened Forrest Highway.

It is the operator’s responsibility to be aware of and understand the operating conditions that form part of a permit.  Affected operators should have received a complete copy of the operating conditions with their permit.  Alternatively, they can be accessed by going to the Main Roads website at www.mainroads.wa.gov.au then Heavy Vehicles, Permits and Notices, Oversize / Overmass vehicles.
