Suitability of the York - Merredin Road
and Wubin - Mullewa Road
for Over Dimensional Loads

As part of ongoing network management, Main Roads has completed detailed route and pavement assessments of the York - Merredin Road (HH Route 3) and the Wubin - Mullewa Road (HH Route 15).

The assessment confirmed that neither of these routes are suitable for allowing the continuation of
single trip movements in excess of the oversize dimensions allowed for in the Class 1 Oversize Period Permit. 

As a result Heavy Haulage Route 4 and 15 will be withdrawn, and Heavy Haulage Route 3 will be amended.

The transport of large indivisible items using the Class 1 Period Oversize Permit and the Class 1 Period Over Mass Permit are not affected by this Update.

EFFECTIVE DATE
From Monday 15 September 2008.

EXCEPTIONS
Providing the operator can clearly demonstrate they are delivering to or are picking up a large indivisible load from an address on either route, or in close proximity to the route, Main Roads will consider individual applications on their merits to gain access to either of these two roads.
