TRUCK RESTRICTIONS ON LEACH HWY AND SOUTH STREET EFFECTIVE TUESDAY, 25 MARCH 2008
Main Roads advises that the truck restrictions on sections of Leach Highway and South Street come into effect on Tuesday, 25 March 2008.
CONDITIONS
From this date, Restricted Access Vehicles will no longer be allowed to use:
- Leach Highway between Albany Highway and Kwinana Freeway; nor
- South Street between Roe Highway and Kwinana Freeway.
Also, trucks carrying freight containers will no longer be able to use South Street between Kwinana Freeway and Stock Road.
Operators are advised that permits have been amended to incorporate these changes.
EXEMPTIONS
The restrictions do not apply to trucks involved with local deliveries or pick-ups.
The restrictions do not apply to trucks operating under Class 1 Restricted Access Vehicles permits (for example trucks carrying oversize loads, low loaders or cranes).
Originally, the restrictions applied to all vehicles over 12.5 m in length, however, the Government announced on the 19 March 2008 that the restrictions will initially only apply to vehicles over 19 m.
