Class 2 and 3 Restricted Access Vehicles Period Permit

Main Roads advises that Version 2 of the Class 2 and 3 Restricted Access Vehicles (RAVs) Period Permit will be available from 2 January 2007.
The Period Permit has undergone a six-month review, which identified a number of improvements and enhancements that would benefit heavy vehicle operators. These have been incorporated into the Period Permits first update.
- Additional RAVs have been included such as single semi trailers, B-doubles and road trains towing dollies; block truck operations; 36.5 metre B triple road trains incorporating a tandem axle group on the second trailer; and B double and two dog trailer road trains.
- Changes to the on-line road maps give operators the option of printing roads by Local Government areas in addition to the more traditional road numbering system.
- Clear instructions have been printed on the CD-ROM sleeve explaining how to use and navigate through the information on the disc.
Whilst the number of roads has increased significantly, some have been removed. A list of the removed roads is attached.
The Period Permit documents will be available to download from the Main Roads" Internet site from 2 January 2007 for free (www.mainroads.wa.gov.au). Alternately, a CD-ROM with the Version 2 documents is available for $5.00 from Heavy Vehicle Operations on 08 9311 8450.
Operators are reminded that it is their responsibility
to make themselves aware of any changes to the network.
