Validity Period for Concessional Loading Permits
As part of HVO"s drive to improve service delivery and streamline our product range it has been decided, in consultation with industry through the Heavy Vehicle Advisory Group, to simplify the validity periods for Concessional Loading Permits.
From 1 January 2007, when you contact HVO to obtain or renew a concessional loading permit, you will only be offered a choice of either a 6 month or 12 month period.
The new arrangements will apply to the 4 schemes currently operating in Western Australia:
. Bulk Commodities Loading Scheme – known as the Concessional Loading Scheme (CLS);
. Import/Export ISO Containers Scheme;
. Livestock Loading Scheme; and
. Certified Weighbridge Mass Management Scheme (CWMMS).
This initiative will reduce the number of Concessional Loading Permits issued annually by up to 50%, resulting in approximately 2300 less permits in the system. Operators will have fewer renewals to deal with and less risk of overlooking a renewal. It will also deliver productivity improvements for Main Roads, so that staff can better utilise their time to provide enhanced customer service and quicker response times.
There will be no change to the fees ($4 per tonne per month) prescribed in the Vehicle Standards Regulations.
