Road Safety Vision

"We believe no one should die or be seriously injured on the State's road network, and we will manage the network to minimise road trauma."

This section provides information about the services we provide to ensure a safer road environment to ALL road users.

  • Road Safety Auditing
Provides all the information you need about what a Road Safety Auditor does, training for Safety Auditors and how you can become one.
  • Black Spot Program
Find out which roads have been included in this years State and National Black Spot Progams. The program schedules include the lists of roads identified as 'black spots'.
  • Crash Incident Management
We work in conjunction with local government authorities to investigate crashes on our road network to identify and address high risk crash locations. This section provides information on how we do this and reports intersection rankings throughout the state.
  • Policy/Guidelines
We provide the policies and guidelines by which crash investigations must be undertaken. We also have information about Safe Systems and the Vision Zero Logical Framework.

As part of the Government’s review of the Department of Premier and Cabinet. the Office of Road Safety was transferred to Main Roads effective from 1 July 2009.  While the Office of Road Safety is currently hosted by Main Roads, we will provide administrative support to enable the Office of Road Safety to function in the same manner as it had previously done within the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
