Road Classification

Road Information Mapping

A Road Information Mapping (RIM) system has been developed to provide information in map form about various aspects of road management and responsibility.

It covers:

  • The whole Western Australian road network;
  • Western Australian Road Hierarchy;
  • Control of Access;
  • Speed Limit zones; and
  • Location of Structures (bridges etc).

Intelligent Transport Systems (I.T.S.)

We are committed to delivering efficiency and improved safety to the management of the road network. This is targeted through use of an Intelligent Transport System (ITS).
