The following documents provide guidance for managing environmental impacts of road construction and maintenance works.

Handbook of Environmental Practice for Road Construction and Maintenance Works

In a joint initiative, representatives from the Roadside Conservation Committee, Main Roads Western Australia and the Western Australian Local Government Association have prepared these guidelines which provide guidance on the key issues and actions necessary to protect the environment during road construction and maintenance activities.

Environmental Guideline - Pits and Quarries

Extraction of naturally occurring materials from pits or quarries is a key component of road construction and maintenance activities. ‘Environmental Guideline – Pits and Quarries’ identifies environmental responsibilities, statutory obligations and corporate commitments. This document can be used for guiding planning, operations and/or rehabilitation of pits or quarries.
