The City of Albany provides the only port, and is the major industrial, commercial and retail centre for the Region. Industrial activity within the region has traditionally been focused on agriculture and its supporting industries, but with the recent emergence of the Blue Gum plantation industry, forestry is also contributing to the Region’s economy.
